Biography

Joseph's life could be an adventure movie. He spent over twenty-five years as a Marine Biologist in some of the most amazing and remote islands of Indonesia, learning the cultures and language before marrying a warrior princess in Bali. And then he changed tack, sailing to Australia to launch a career in film. After seven years living on the boat and making movies, he returned to Bali with only one thing on his mind: to tell stories that matter. His recent acting work includes a role in Dev Patel's much anticipated directorial action film debut Monkey Man along with Lost in Paradise - Luchsinger and the Gods, ITV’s The Singapore Grip, and HBO's Strike Back. Joseph is one of only a handful of registered foreign Film Director’s in Indonesia and directed, wrote, and produced the television pilot Soulbeats, currently in development with a streaming platform as a series. His feature script A Boy, An Elephant and The Long White Cloud has received development funding from The New Zealand Film Commission and he is co-producing his original story Trash Monsters with Finnish Animation group Anima Vitae.
